Central Water Rescue Service in St. Peter-Ording

Attention, lifeguards!

On sunny days, up to 30,000 beachgoers flock to the beach at St. Peter-Ording to enjoy the sun and the water. On those days, up to 16 lifeguards are stationed at the six lifeguard stations along the beach. And you can become part of the team!

As a volunteer lifeguard, you’ll explain the tides, treat injuries, reunite “lost children” with their parents, and always be ready for emergencies—for example, bringing swimmers in distress ashore by rescue boat, jet ski, or by swimming.

Other typical emergency calls might involve lost watt hikers, adrift or injured surfers, missing persons, or watt hikers trapped by the incoming tide.
