In total, there are no fewer than 18 Protestant churches on Eiderstedt, one Catholic church in St. Peter-Ording, and three additional churches in Friedrichstadt—an extraordinary density that hardly any other region in Germany can match. Summer Church World
Throughout the year, various events take place in the churches of Eiderstedt. The event program for “Sommerkirche Welt” is particularly well-known far beyond the borders of the Eiderstedt Peninsula. During the summer months of July and August, you can enjoy lectures, devotional services, exhibitions on topics from around the world, and concerts at the small St. Michael’s Church in the tranquil village of Welt.
