Want to know what makes us Northern Germans tick? Nothing could be easier. But be warned—we Northern Germans are a special breed of people. In a good way, of course.
North Sea, Ahoy!
Anyone who’s ever visited us up here in the far north knows that we have a lot to offer here in St. Peter-Ording and on the Eiderstedt Peninsula.
True highlights that you won’t find anywhere else. Anyone who knows us North Germans also knows that our land is just as flat as our dialect—and that a simple “MOIN” is almost enough to win you over here.
We’ll tell you what special attractions you can look forward to on our beautiful peninsula and which North Frisian dos and don’ts you should know.
Strand aufs Herz
Here’s a huge dose of Strand aufs Herz! Ride horses along the water’s edge, enjoy a meal seven meters above sea level, crown Grandpa the “King of the Mudflats,” or experience the open expanse for yourself while kitesurfing or watching a wide variety of beach sports.
Our beach is a place of diversity in every season—here, everyone can do what they love. Here you can relax, explore, enjoy yourself, or let off some steam. Together with your loved ones or all by yourself—and right in the heart of the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. That’s St. Peter-Ording!
Our Erlebnis-Hus
The Erlebnis-Hus is our family stilt house in St. Peter-Ording and the first stilt house built on land.
This architectural highlight offers fun for the little ones at the Spiele-Hus and plenty of action for teens at the outdoor playground. Adults can especially look forward to the spectacular views from the various levels and culinary delights at the Ahoi Restaurant.
Typical of Northern Germany
From Black-headed Gulls to Gray Seals
Anyone visiting St. Peter-Ording or the Eiderstedt Peninsula should be prepared for encounters with wildlife: The gray seal basking in the sun on the sandbank, the black-headed gull on the lookout for tasty fish sandwiches, or the oystercatcher searching for worms in the mudflats—the wildlife here on our peninsula is truly something special!
